Georgia Pack and Load has been moving Georgia families since 1995. We are a family owned company, not a franchise, with 25 full-time employees working out of three locations: our headquarters in Suwanee, plus crews based in Waycross and Valdosta. That footprint lets us serve metro Atlanta, south Georgia, and the coast with the same people and the same standards on every job.

Houses, Apartments, and Everything in Them
An Atlanta apartment move with a strict elevator window is a different job than a four-bedroom house with a piano in the den, and we plan each one accordingly. Our crews coordinate with building management on loading dock access, protect shared hallways, and handle awkward pieces like sleeper sofas, armoires, and safes with the right equipment. Single-item furniture moves are welcome too. If it is heavy and it matters to you, that is our kind of work.

Do you handle both local and statewide moves?
Yes. Our crews run short local jobs and full statewide relocations. With locations in Suwanee, Waycross, and Valdosta, we can start a move from metro Atlanta, the coast, or south Georgia without long deadhead miles, which keeps scheduling flexible and pricing honest.
Is Georgia Pack and Load licensed and insured?
Yes. We operate under USDOT number 0902005 and carry the insurance required for household goods carriers. We have been a family owned Georgia moving company since 1995, and our crews are made up of 25 full-time employees rather than day labor.
Will you take apart and reassemble my furniture?
Standard disassembly and reassembly is part of the job. Beds, dining tables, desks, and shelving units come apart at the origin and go back together at the destination. Every piece gets padded and wrapped before it leaves the room.
How far in advance should I book my move?
Two to four weeks of notice is comfortable for most local moves, and more lead time helps in the summer and at the end of each month. If your timeline is tight, call us anyway. We can often work a smaller move into the schedule on short notice.
Do you charge by the hour or give a flat price?
Local moves are normally priced hourly with the crew size and truck quoted up front; longer and interstate moves are quoted as a firm price for the job. Either way you get the number in writing after we have seen what is actually being moved, not a phone guess that changes on move day.
What will you not move?
We cannot transport hazardous materials, propane tanks, gasoline, paint thinner, ammunition, fireworks, or anything corrosive or flammable. Federal rules prohibit it on a household goods truck. We also ask you to carry cash, jewelry, prescriptions, and irreplaceable documents yourself.
Do I need to empty my dresser drawers?
Leave folded clothing in dresser drawers; it travels fine and saves you boxes. Empty anything heavy, breakable, or liquid, books, glassware, bottles, because the weight can crack a drawer bottom or shift the piece while it is on the dolly.
What happens if it rains on move day?
We move in the rain. Crews lay floor runners, wrap upholstered pieces in plastic before they leave the house, and stage loading under cover where the property allows. Rain is not a reason we reschedule, though we will talk it through with you if conditions are genuinely unsafe.
